Police Hunt Two Men In Viral Video For Assaulting Schoolgirl Accused Of Dating Both
Police have launched a manhunt for two men captured on video assaulting a schoolgirl, in footage that has since gone viral on social media.
The five-minute video shows the men confronting the girl, accusing her of dating both of them at the same time.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) appealed to the public for information that could assist in identifying the suspects and establishing the location of the incident. The statement reads:
“The ZRP has noted with concern a disturbing video circulating on social media, in which a schoolgirl is seen being assaulted by two male individuals, accusing her of dating both of them.
“The ZRP strongly condemns such acts of violence and is now conducting an investigation into the matter.
“We are appealing for information which may lead to the identification of the suspects and the place of occurrence.

The video of the attack on the schoolgirl comes as Zimbabwe marks the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which this year runs under the theme “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.”
The campaign began on 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and will conclude on 10 December, Human Rights Day.
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is observed annually on 25 November. Designated by the United Nations, it calls for global action to end violence against women and girls in all its forms.
The day also honours the memory of the three Mirabal sisters in the Dominican Republic, who were assassinated on 25 November 1960 for opposing dictator Rafael Trujillo. Their courage has since become a symbol of resistance against gender-based violence worldwide.
