Church Grouping Strengthens Diplomatic and Cultural Ties with Russia, Honoring Founder Jimayi Muduvuri

In a significant step towards deepening international cooperation, the Zimbabwe Amalgamated Council of Churches (ZACC) has fortified its relationship with the Russian Federation. The pivotal role of ZACC Founder, Mr.Jimayi Muduvuri, in fostering these cordial relations was formally recognized and praised by Russian diplomatic officials.

 

The acknowledgement came during a Russia Arts and Dance Performance event held on December 17, 2025, in the Borrowdale suburb of Harare. The gathering, which included diplomats and prominent members of the Russian community in Zimbabwe, served as a vibrant celebration of the growing partnership.

 

In his address, the Russian Counsellor lauded Mr. Muduvuri’s dedicated efforts in building a bridge between ZACC and Russia. They highlighted his visionary leadership as instrumental in creating a foundation for meaningful and sustainable collaboration.

In response to the recognition, Hon. Muduvuri expressed his profound gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing this strategic partnership. He outlined key areas of collaboration that ZACC will pursue with Russian support, designed to foster mutual understanding and development:

 

Cross-Religious Exchange Programs: Facilitating dialogue and shared learning between religious leaders and communities of both nations.

 

Cultural Exchange Initiatives:Promoting a deeper appreciation of each other’s heritage through arts, music, and dance performances, much like the event that served as the backdrop for this announcement.

 

Educational Partnerships: Developing programs to enhance skills, knowledge, and academic opportunities for Zimbabwean and Russian citizens.

The strengthened alliance signals a bright future for ZACC-Russia relations. The Russian Embassy has pledged concrete support for ZACC’s initiatives throughout 2026, a commitment that promises to solidify the bond between the two entities.
