Government officials from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MOPSE) have expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness in schools following monitoring visits conducted across Sanyati District.
The assessment exercise was led by Madam Ophilia Zava, Director in Charge of Primary Schools in MOPSE, and focused on evaluating schools’ readiness for effective teaching and learning. The team paid particular attention to key administrative, academic, and operational requirements expected at the commencement of the school term.
During the visits, officials inspected scheme books and lesson plans, class registers marked with learners who reported for school, as well as check-in and check-out records for teachers, including documented reasons for any absenteeism. The team also reviewed samples of learners’ written work, ensured that all books of accounts were up to date, assessed school-based projects, and observed the general maintenance and cleanliness of school grounds.
Further areas of assessment included pass rate analysis, learner dropout statistics, availability of minutes and registers for staff meetings, and the existence of a comprehensive school opening preparedness plan.
In Rimuka, the delegation—accompanied by District Schools Inspector Mr Joseph Majasi and a team of inspectors Mr Machinda Magwegwe and Blandina Chitongo—visited Father Flower Group of Schools (Rimuka Institute), a relatively new institution established in 2023. Despite its recent establishment, the school has already made a significant mark, achieving a 100% pass rate in the recently released Advanced Level results under the tutelage of veteran headmaster Mr Eden Gopoza.
Madam Zava and her team were impressed by the solid infrastructure, the high standards maintained at the school, and the variety and sustainability of school-based projects. The officials also noted with commendation the 100% teacher turnout on the opening day, reflecting strong professional commitment and effective leadership.
Overall, Madam Ophilia Zava expressed satisfaction with how Father Flower Group of Schools is operating, describing its performance as exemplary and results-driven. She noted that the school’s achievements are a clear testament to the dedication and hard work of the teaching staff, under the leadership of Director General Dr Jimmy Lemekani-Waya.
The school’s excellence was further underscored by its recent recognition as the Best Private School in Mashonaland West Province at the Mashonaland West Excellence Awards held last December, affirming its growing reputation as a centre of academic excellence in the province.
