Serial killer Anymore Zvitsva appears in court, accused of killing 23 people
Anymore Zvitsva, a 33-year-old suspected serial killer, has been remanded in custody until February 3, 2026.
He faces five new charges, including two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
Zvitsva is linked to the deaths of 18 people in Guruve and had previously appeared in court on January 5 with eight murder charges, two attempted murder charges, and two counts of rape.
On Monday, he arrived at the Harare Magistrates’ Court in leg irons, assisted by another inmate due to a leg injury sustained when security forces shot him while he attempted to flee arrest on January 3.
His actions have instilled fear in the Guruve community as law enforcement has been working hard to bring him to justice.
Authorities have advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
