Domestic worker jailed 30 years for raping girl (aged 7)

A domestic worker from Mutare, Manicaland province, has been sentenced to an effective 30 years’ imprisonment for raping his boss’ minor daughter.

 

The 20-year-old offender appeared at the Mutare Magistrates Court facing two counts of rape.

 

The victim is a Grade Two pupil aged seven.

 

The State case was that the offender was employed by victim’s father and residing at the same homestead as the girl.

 

It was heard that on December 13, 2025, at Odzi, in the Chief Marange area, the victim was alone at home when the offender pounced on her, forcing her to undress before violating her.

 

The matter only came to light the following day after the victim’s sister noticed she was having difficulty walking and questioned her. Victim then narrated her ordeal at the hands of offender.

 

It was also heard in court that bloodstains were noticed on victim’s clothes she was wearing at the time of the attacks. *_-NewZimbabwe_*
