CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE, GROWTH AND A BRIGHT FUTURE
By Admire Chitsungo in Kadoma
Bright Future College recently came alive with colour, pride and inspiration as the institution hosted a Celebration of Excellence ceremony, bringing together educators, parents, learners, community leaders and distinguished guests to honour academic achievement, discipline and holistic education.
The ceremony was graced by Cde Timothy Nyakudzuka, the National Spokesperson of Men BelievED, a ZANU PF affiliate supporting the vision of His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
He was accompanied by Men BelievED Mashonaland West Provincial Chairman Cde Elijah Tambala, adding weight to an occasion that highlighted education as a key pillar in national development and Vision 2030.
Delivering his keynote address as Guest of Honour, Cde Nyakudzuka described the celebration as more than a routine school event, but a powerful testament to vision, resilience and promise. He applauded the founding purpose of the school, noting that it was established to produce disciplined, competent and future-ready learners.
“This institution was never meant to be just a place of instruction,” he said. “It was designed as a centre of transformation — shaping character, uplifting families and preparing young people for meaningful participation in society.”
He commended the school for posting an impressive 100 percent A-Level pass rate, describing it as clear evidence of academic rigour, commitment by learners and effective teaching.
He also acknowledged the 52.8 percent O-Level pass rate, achieved under challenging circumstances, saying it reflected resilience, determination and a culture of continuous improvement.
Cde Nyakudzuka further praised the school’s forward-thinking approach, particularly the integration of vocational programmes such as the Driving School embedded within the curriculum.
He said the award for Best School Vocationalist in the District was well deserved, as the institution was equipping learners with practical life skills, employability competencies and an entrepreneurial mindset.
“Here, education is holistic,” he said. “Learners are developed academically, practically, socially and morally. This school is not just producing graduates, but leaders of tomorrow.”
Bright Future College Director, Reverend Conwell Mushangwe, heaped praise on teachers, learners and parents for teamwork and shared values that have driven the institution’s success.
He emphasised that discipline remains the cornerstone of achievement.
“I am happy that we have parents who respect discipline,” said Rev Mushangwe. “Without discipline, we cannot achieve these results. We are not only celebrating success, but discipline itself.”
He stressed that character outweighs mere academic numbers, noting that it is better for a disciplined learner to pass fewer subjects than for one with many passes but no discipline.
Citing renowned Zimbabwean writer Dambudzo Marechera, Reverend Mushangwe illustrated how brilliance without discipline can limit success.
“As Dariro Academy, we are here to nurture future leaders with meaningful lives,” he said.
School Principal Pastor Luckson Disimasi described the 2025 examination results as proof that the institution has become a household name, not only in Kadoma but across Zimbabwe. He attributed the success to firm discipline, clear vision and commitment to national goals.
“We are celebrating milestones as we align ourselves with Vision 2030 under His Excellency Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa,” he said. “We attained 100 percent pass rate at A-Level, 100 percent at HEXCO, and 53 percent at O-Level, with our top learner achieving 5 As and 4 Bs.”
Pastor Disimasi also announced that the school has been shortlisted among 50 institutions nationwide to receive awards at the High Excellence Office of Schools Awards to be held in Harare on 31 January.
“We are celebrating real-life academic excellence here in Rimuka, at a church premise,” he said. “Parents are here to testify. We salute the generals and the foot soldiers of the excellence we celebrate today.”
School Vice Chairperson Mrs Primrose Munhuwenhamo Kamoto expressed satisfaction with the strong performance of the girl child, noting that girls played a significant role in lifting the school’s academic profile.
Parents and learners also shared moving testimonies. Mr Makwiro, a parent, said he trusted the school’s system from the beginning because it puts God first in everything it does.
Learner Anesu Musiyamhazhe gave an emotional testimony, recounting how she was once labelled a disgrace after failing her first sitting. “At Bright Future College, I was nurtured and supported,” she said. “I went on to come tops with 14 points.”
The ceremony stood as a powerful affirmation that discipline, faith, visionary leadership and community support can transform lives, build institutions and secure a brighter future for Zimbabwe’s young generation.
