ZANU PF members ranks swell in Harare as people abandon the opposition
ZANU PF Harare province has recorded a significant number of new members, particularly from ranks of those who are defecting from the opposition after being charmed by the ruling party’s development trajectory.
ZANU PF was conducting its National Cell Day today.
Speaking in an interview after attending the exercise in Borrowdale 1, Harare provincial chairperson Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa said the party has experienced a tremendous increase in new members.
“We have had overwhelming response and attendance was massive in all cells in the country. Here at my cell, we recorded over 100 new members and all their names have been recorded. This is the situation in the whole province,” he said.
Most people, especially new members from the opposition, he said, have been charmed by President Mnangagwa’s all-inclusive development trajectory.
“President Mnangagwa’s policies, which are inclusive and leaving no one and no place behind, have been the major pulling factor for new members. The massive infrastructure development and sound economic policies have resonated well with the masses.
You remember we used to queue for bread but today it’s a thing of the past because we are now producing excessive wheat to the extent that we are now looking for markets to sell the surplus. This how President Mnangagwa has revamped the agriculture sector,” he said.
“Let them join the party in their numbers. There is empowerment in ZANU PF. President Mnangagwa has launched a number of projects to benefit everyone. This is time that we take advantage of these programmes to change our lives through a caring President.”
