Mnangagwa loses sleep over Zanu PF infighting

President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Friday launched a scathing attack on errant members of the ruling Zanu PF party, demanding an immediate halt to escalating internal divisions that are threatening to weaken the former liberation movement.
Addressing Zanu PF Central Committee members at a seminar held in Gweru, Mnangagwa warned that continued infighting, corruption, and indiscipline within the party would attract serious consequences.
He stressed that party leaders had a responsibility to uphold unity, discipline, and public trust.
“As Central Committee members, our conduct must continue to inspire confidence and hope, while also entrenching unity of purpose and trust within the party and the nation at large,” Mnangagwa said.
Mnangagwa further cautioned against disregard for party rules and structures, saying indiscipline was undermining the party’s foundations.
“Disregard of the party constitution and ignorance of the correct party line cannot be tolerated,” he said.
Party insiders said Mnangagwa was visibly angry during the closed-door meeting, accusing some senior figures of fueling divisions and engaging in corrupt activities that were tarnishing the party’s image and destabilising government.
The strong remarks come amid growing tensions and factional battles within Zanu PF, with reports of deepening rifts ahead of key internal processes. *_-ZimEye_*
