Socialite Patricia Jack in custody for insulting, threatening cops
Socialite Patricia Jack is in trouble for allegedly causing chaos and insulting police officers at Highlands Police Station.
Jack (35), has been detained in custody after appearing in court yesterday.
She appeared before Harare magistrate Michael Mafukidze charged with disorderly conduct.
She was remanded in custody to today for plea recording. The complainant is the State, represented by Emma Habeza of ZRP Highlands.
The State alleges that on March 29, at around 10pm at ZRP Highlands, Jack went to the police station. She was following her friend, who had been arrested, and was being held at the station.
The court heard she started shouting at the police officers, using vulgar words, and she then dropped the names of some senior Government officials, to give an impression that she was well connected.
She is alleged to have said the police force at Highlands Police had to go down and she accused them of allegedly taking bribes.
She vowed that she would have all of them fired.
By insulting the police offices, and threatening them, Jack tarnished the image of the police force, the police station and is also being accused of obstructing other activities which were being carried out there in the course of maintaining law and order. *_-H-Metro_*
