Beitbridge transporter (aged 36) ‘rapes, impregnates’ minor

Well-known Beitbridge transporter, Ronald Zhou (36) is in court for allegedly raping and impregnating a minor at his residence.

Zhou of Chamananga Village under Chief Sitaudze in Beitbridge appeared before Regional Magistrate Charity Maphosa on Tuesday.

He is charged with rape that allegedly happened on November 25, 2025 around 9pm.

Circumstances are that the minor is doing Form four at a school in Beitbridge.

Zhou allegedly phoned the minor to collect groceries sent by her brother. The minor found Zhou seated in a white Toyota Probox. He allegedly instructed her to get inside the vehicle after which he locked the vehicle.

He made advances towards the minor who denied and Zhou raped her. The minor didn’t inform anyone of the matter.

The matter came to light when the minor’s mother discovered that her daughter was pregnant. The minor was quizzed and told her mother that Zhou had raped her.
