Addressing Executives at Feny Company Limited, Cde Mhlanga characterized Zimbabwe as a premier investment destination for industrial capital, citing the country’s status as the second fastest growing economy in Africa and second in the region.
“The mining sector has witnessed increased investments in gold, lithium, iron, and steel production, mainly anchored on His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s mantra, ‘Zimbabwe is Open for Business,’” the Deputy Secretary for Economic Affairs and lnvestment Promotion stated.
The delegation is specifically wooing investors to invest in value addition and beneficiation of the country’s abundant resources , including mineral beneficiation before exports. The Ruling Party views this as a lucrative opportunity for Chinese firms to establish operations within Zimbabwe’s Special Economic Zones.
Feny Company Limited has been identified as a “strategic partner” due to its expertise in mining solutions, particularly paste-filling projects for coal and metal mines. The ruling party is seeking to leverage such technical expertise to support a sector that has seen exports surge from $10.9 billion in 2025 to $14.9 billion in 2026.
The pitch to Chinese investors comes at a time when Zimbabwe reports its most stable macroeconomic environment in three decades. Despite the global volatility and fuel shocks caused by the Middle East conflic, the delegation highlighted that Zimbabwe has maintained a single-digit inflation rate averaging 3.95% since January 2026.
With a projected GDP growth of 5% for the year 2026, the ZANU PF officials emphasized that the “Second Republic” is not only looking for mining partners, but also investors to join a “massive infrastructure development boom” involving roads, dams, and large-scale construction projects across the country.
The presence of Provincial Ministers of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution from the Matabeleland regions—hubs for coal, gold, and lithium—underscores the ZANU PF Government’s intent to decentralize investment and fast-track devolution through direct foreign partnerships in line with President Dr E.D Mnangagwa’s developmental philosophy of leaving no-one and no place behind.
Cde Mhlanga reiterated that the engagement will trigger harvesting of low hanging business oppportunities for Zimbabwe.
“I am positive that today’s engagements consolidate our efforts towards a solid win-win shared future for us all through our collaborations. It further cements the strong bilateral ties between our two countries and great Parties that is ZANU PF and the Communist Party of China (CPC). Zimbabwe Is Open for business and I invite you to expand your footprint in Zimbabwe,” he said.
