Three dead in bus crash with private vehicle

HARARE – Three people died while one was seriously injured when an Inter Africa bus carrying some 50 passengers was involved in a fatal road traffic accident with a private vehicle Friday.

The tragedy, according to police, occurred at the 65km peg along Roy-Chiredzi road.

“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident in which three people died and one person was seriously injured when a Zhong Tong bus with 50 passengers on board had a head on collision with a Toyota wish vehicle with four occupants on board at the 65 km peg along Roy – Chiredzi Road.

“The bodies were taken to Msiso Hospital Mortuary for post mortem whilst the injured is admitted at the same hospital.”

Police have not yet released the names of the accident victims.

It is not the first time fatal road traffic accident has happened coincidentally at the 65km peg along the Roy – Chiredzi Road.

Seven passengers died on the spot, including a seven year-old boy while 11 were injured, six seriously while five died upon admission at Musiso Mission Hospital near Jerera Growth point in Zaka.
