UCCZ intensifies anti-drug abuse campaign

United Churches council of Zimbabwe have intensify youth-focused programmes in a bid to educate youths on the danger of abusing drugs.
The organizations is leading from the front in the drug abuse awareness and encourage young people to focus on nation-building organized a youth seminar schedule for this Saturday at Martin spur Primary school in Kadoma.
In a telephone interview with Archibishop CT Mapungwana on the forthcoming Youth Empowerment seminar he said United Churches council of Zimbabwe believe that it is their duty to cultivate a generation that is empowered and actively participates in nation building.
“It is our duty as the church to ministers hope and purpose-driven living. The church must preach the gospel that ministers to all spheres of life and we are taking this drive gear up with the ongoing youth empowerment seminars. We are expecting more young people to attend this seminar.
“We believe such seminars impact knowledge to the young people so that they become responsible citizens that are ready to build the nation,” he said.
The man of God further said the United Churches Council of Zimbabwe is a coordinating tool that serves to combine efforts into providing acceptable national solutions by engaging churches, stakeholders, leaders and societal groups to mitigate challenges affecting them.
Kadoma Youth For Development board member, Amos Baiton urges fellow youths to attend and participate in this seminar.
“I am grateful to the church for such a noble initiative and it is my hope that youths will take advantage of such free empowerment programmes,” he said.
Archibishop CT Mapungwana is from UCCZ head office and will be the Guest speaker and facilitator who will take young people through his life experiences in business highlighting that success is possible as long you work hard and avoid such vices as drug and substance abuse.
