The video has raised alarm and sparked concern among social media users.

The children were caught on camera at Cnr Robert Mugabe and Innez opposite Chicken Inn near Joina City. In the video which has been circulating on social media, a group of young children can be seen holding bottles of Belgravia alcohol while enjoying their Chicken Inn food.

The video showing children publicly drinking alcohol in the CBD has left many people shocked. Taking to social media, netizens expressed concern and outrage at those who sold alcohol to the young children. Additionally, social media users are pointing fingers at the children’s parents and guardians, holding them accountable for this behaviour.

Social media users called on the Zimbabwe Republic Police to arrest the parents or the guardians and also those who sold the alcohol to the underage children.

Zimbabwe Tops Global Alcohol Consumption Ranking

Coincidentally, this incident comes just a week after Zimbabwe was ranked number 1 on the Global Alcohol Consumption ranking survey.

A recent survey conducted by Wise Voter revealed that Zimbabwe ranked among the nations with the highest per capita alcohol consumption in the world.

According to the survey, the average Zimbabwean consumes a staggering 62.8 litres of pure alcohol annually, earning the country the top spot in global rankings.
