My husband punishes me by making me pregnant each time he is angry: Pregnant woman cries in court
In a recent court case, a woman from Domboshava has taken legal action against her husband, alleging that he deliberately destroyed her family planning pills in an attempt to impregnate her against her will.
Desire Nzanganda appeared before Harare magistrate Tamara Chibindi and revealed that she is currently two months pregnant as a result of her husband, Christopher Shumba’s actions. Nzanganda further claimed that her life has been filled with misery since she married Shumba, accusing him of subjecting her to both verbal and physical abuse.
Seeking protection from the court, Nzanganda pleaded for a protection order against Shumba, expressing her concerns about the potential negative impact of the ongoing abuse on her pregnancy.
Additionally, Nzanganda accused Shumba of failing to provide for their six minor children. She claimed that whenever Shumba becomes angry, he seeks to punish her by impregnating her. Surprisingly, Shumba did not contest his wife’s application for the protection order.
