From Critic To Convert: Seh Calaz Responds to Wicknell Chivayo After Missing Out on Luxurious US$155K Benz
Zimdancehall artist Seh Calaz has responded to businessman Wicknell Chivayo after missing out on a chance to receive a gifted car due to his Facebook post critiquing the lack of progress five months post-elections.
In his Facebook post on December 22, 2023, Seh Calaz expressed disappointment regarding the absence of progress and voiced concerns about community issues.
Wicknell Chivayo’s Car Gifting Announcement
Recently, Wicknell Chivayo announced his latest car purchase for Sandra Ndebele on Instagram. He mentioned that on his birthday, he pledged to buy cars for three singers and a DJ. However, he revealed that he changed his mind about gifting a car to a specific musician after the musician criticized Zanu-PF.
Although Seh Calaz was not explicitly named, it became apparent that he was the musician referred to, as Chivayo made reference to Calaz’s previous post.
Seh Calaz’s Response to Wicknell Chivayo
In response, Seh Calaz clarified on Saturday evening that despite appearing critical of Zanu-PF, he is, in fact, a staunch supporter of the party. He emphasized his family’s history of supporting Zanu-PF, with his parents holding senior positions in the party’s provincial structures.
He said he is not saying this to curry favour with the flamboyant businessman and hopefully land himself a luxurious Mercedes Benz GLE500d.

A History of Support for Zanu-PF
Seh Calaz pointed out his longstanding support for Zanu-PF, highlighting that he has recorded and released songs praising the party since the time of late President Robert Mugabe. He mentioned attending Zanu-PF rallies and proudly wearing Zanu-PF regalia. He acknowledged that he has declined offers from CCC because his loyalty to Zanu-PF remains unwavering.

Seh Calaz Addresses Wicknell Chivayo, Reaffirms Loyalty to Zanu-PF
Seh Calaz clarified that when he mentioned nothing had changed five months after the elections, he was criticising the opposition party that controls towns and cities through councillors. He explained that supporters of CCC assumed he was criticizing Zanu-PF when, in reality, he was referring to the opposition. He concluded by stating that moving forward, people should understand that he is a Zanu-PF supporter.
