Former Minister Christopher Mutsvangwa issues statement

In a strong statement, Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, has vehemently denied any affiliation or knowledge of a fraudulent social media account bearing his name. The former minister called on all Zimbabweans to disregard and report the parody account, while also urging the Zimbabwe Republic Police to take swift action in addressing this issue.

Expressing his unwavering loyalty to the party and President Mnangagwa, Ambassador Mutsvangwa condemned the use of his name and likeness to spread false information and cast aspersions on the party’s leadership.

“I have no association nor knowledge of the above-named account. I urge all Zimbabweans to disregard and report that parody account and any other, I also implore the Zimbabwe Republic Police to harness this challenge.

“My loyalty to the party and President Mnangagwa is beyond question and to use my name and likeliness to cast false aspersions on the party and its leadership is intolerable,” said Cde Mutsvangwa in a statement.

The fake social media account, operating under Ambassador Mutsvangwa’s name, has caused confusion and misinformation among Zimbabwean citizens.
