Lilly-James Kindergarten: The First Ever School That Offers Exclusive Services In Zimbabwe

Lilly-James is the founder of a Kindergarten and Junior School which was conceived eight years ago and birthed two years later.
Lilly-James is operating in Belvedere, at 46 Edmonds Avenue, parallel to Samora Michael and opposite the Showground.
“We are a Montessori culture-based school for our kindergarten age groups. The syllabus is USA foundation,” said Chipo, who is the founder and director for the school.
At Stage 1 (Grade 1) they offer Cambridge teaching in conjunction with Jolly Phonics as far as reading is concerned.
Lilly -James are big on setting a high standards as they have a team of qualified and experienced professionals.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22 v 6 is a verse from the Bible we ground on.
“We ground our little ones self care. We have age appropriate garden tools, mops and brooms for their grooming which also improves their gross motor skills and finger dexterity. Home economics wing also include the rabbits which we keep as pets and chickens and they take part in taking care of these. We aim to raise a distinct generation whose foundation is on Christian values that is why we also have an Adventurer Club to build mainly their spiritual and social skills,” said Miss Chipo.
“Their physical growth is our concern that is why it is also our mandate that we feed them from morning until they go home,” explained Chipo. Well balance is a big component to the overall person in the way they are and behave according to the Lilly -James founder.
Athletics, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, music and tennis is offered as extra curriculum activities.
“At the moment we are taking children from as young as 6 months to Stage 2, as we build upwards,” she said.
“Fees includes tuition, meals and stationery and it’s $550 per term or $210 monthly.”
Transport is provided on monthly costs dependi g on zone but generally it is from as low as $50 to $110.
