Mberengwa East MP Hamadziripi Dube Dies In Car Accident On His Way To Independence Day Celebrations

On a sombre note, Mberengwa East Member of Parliament Hamadziripi Dube, along with two other passengers, met an unfortunate demise in a car accident while travelling for the Independence Day celebrations yesterday.

ZRP Statement

The Zimbabwe Republic Police issued a statement regarding the accident:

“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred at the 166-kilometre peg along Harare-Bulawayo Road on 18/04/24 at around 1100 hours. Three people lost their lives in the incident, while one person sustained injuries.”

According to the statement, the Ford Ranger twin cab, carrying three passengers, veered off the road, overturned, and came to a halt.

The bodies of the victims were taken to Kadoma General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem whilst the injured is admitted at the same hospital.

The Unfortunate Victims’ Fate

The deceased were transported to Kadoma General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examinations, while the injured individual received medical attention at the same hospital.

Identification of MP Hamadziripi Dube

It has been confirmed that among the victims was the esteemed MP of Mberengwa East, Hamadziripi Dube. The occupants of the vehicle were reportedly en route to Independence Day celebrations on the day of the tragic incident.
