Fertop Agriculture Fertilizer Plant Commissioned In Norton

Fertop Agriculture a subsidiary of Heliconvest Investments yesterday officially opened a fertilizer manufacturing plant in Norton.

The momentous occasion marked a significant step towards enhancing agricultural practices fostering economic development and ensuring food security in the region.

Fertop Agriculture Fertilizer processing plant is situated in Norton opposite Grain Marketing Board adjacent to the Moreharvest fertilizer plant. The newly commissioned facility is equipped with automatic blending lines and packing lines, showcasing the latest advancements in the fertilizer production technology.The state y the art facility incorporates the latest technology making fertilizer manufacturing efficient and environmentally friendly. “The maximum production per day is 300 tonnes of fertilizer per day . The plant is poised to meet the fertilizer demands of local farmers efficiently and sustainably” said Gordon Tam , communications officer for Fertop Fertilizer.

The one million investment project is funded by Heliconvest Investments ( private) limited and it’s aim is to provide a steady supply of fertilizer in Zimbabwe and ensure food security. ” We have created hundreds of jobs for the local community contributing to economic growth and prosperity ” added Me Tam .

The launch was graced by several government top officials who include d Provincial Minister for Mashonaland West Honourable Marian Chombo who was the guest of honor . She emphasized the government’s commitment for supporting initiatives aimed at agricultural development. Other distinguished guests included Professor Obert Jiri Permanent Secretary in the ministry of lands , Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Chief Charumbira , President of Pan-African Parliament , senator of Zimbabwe Parliament chief Chivero , ARDA chairperson Ivan Craig and Minister of Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Honourable Kazembe Kazembe.

“This project exemplifies our shared commitment to advancing agricultural sustainability and promoting economic growth in Zimbabwe. We are confident that this state of the art facility will play a pivotal role in enhancing agricultural productivity and food security in the region. The first batch of products is expected to be immediate available ” concluded Mr Pony Liang chairperson of Fertop Fertilizer and Heliconvest Investments.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Professor Obert Jiri left, and Honourable Marian Chombo cutting the ribbon at the official opening.
