Fastjet Airlines Now Accepts ZiG Currency for Airline Bookings and Payments

 

In a significant development, Fastjet airline has migrated to the newly introduced currency, Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG)

The airline is now accepting ZiG currency as payment for travelling on their airline. Fastjet Airlines has become the first airline to accept Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) currency as payment.

Fastjet’s announcement: Customers can now book and pay in ZiG currency

In a statement shared on their X handle, Fastjet airlines announced that they are now accepting ZiG currency as payment.

Fastjet revealed that customers can now book and pay in ZiG currency for their airline travel. They advised their customers that pay

fastjet Zimbabwe is pleased to advise that we have successfully migrated to the ZiG currency.

Customers may now book and pay in ZiG.

Furthermore, Fastjet advised its customers that payment in ZiG currency can be made any airport ticketing desk or fastest sales shops.

Payment in ZiG can only be made at any fastjet airport ticketing desk or fastjet sales shops,” reads the statement.

Zimbabweans applaud Fastjet’s decision to embrace ZiG currency

ZiG currency was introduced on the 4th of April 2024 by the newly appointed Reserve Bank Governor of Zimbabwe, Dr John Mushayavanhu. The introduction of the structured currency ZiG has been widely accepted and rejected by other businesses.

Fastjet’s decision to accept ZiG currency has been welcomed by Zimbabweans. Netizens applauded the airline for accepting local currency.
