UK-based Zimbabwean man sentenced for fatally stabbing ex-lover in front of her two kids
Obert Moyo fatally stabbed Ncube, 35, in the chest during the early hours of November 10 last year at Dukesgate Grove in Little Hulton, Salford, shortly after she terminated their relationship.
Obert Moyo’s History Of Stalking Before The Fatal Murder
Authorities revealed that Moyo had unlawfully entered her residence following a prolonged period of stalking. Despite her children, aged 10 and 12, valiantly attempting to fend him off, Moyo succeeded in carrying out the fatal attack.
Perseverance Ncube, affectionately known as Percy, was described by her family as a caring and devoted mother.
Moyo, residing on Pennington Road, Bolton, initially denied the accusations but altered his plea to guilty at the commencement of his trial.
The court proceedings unveiled a harrowing tale of Moyo’s relentless stalking and aggression towards Ms Ncube after their separation.
Initially assaulting her within the confines of her own bedroom, Moyo was forcibly removed by her children. He then pursued Ms Ncube onto the street, where he inflicted the fatal wound.
Eloise Marshall KC, the prosecutor, recounted the chilling 999 call where the anguished cries of Ms. Ncube’s children echoed in the background, one of them desperately praying for her survival.
Moyo fled the scene but was swiftly apprehended in Bolton later that same day.
