Tragic Loss: Teenage Girl Takes Own Life Following Failed Purity Test
Zimbabweans have called for closure of the African Apostolic Church after a 15-year-old girl from Plot 4, Inkosi Farm took her own life.
The young girl, identified as Tariro Svikiro, took her own life after she failed her purity test.
Her death comes after she had attended the African Apostolic Church on May 4, 2024, accompanied by her mother.

According to The Mirror, during the church gathering, a prophetess named Madzimai Chigora allegedly made a prophecy suggesting that Tariro was no longer a pure, a claim that she vehemently denied.
Subsequently, Tariro was subjected to a forced chastity test, which reportedly revealed that she was no longer chaste.
Overwhelmed by the situation, Tariro disclosed that she had engaged in lula lula relations with two individuals sharing the same surname as the prophetess, hinting at a potential familial connection. The distressing circumstances surrounding the incident took a toll on her emotional well-being.
Tragic Decision: Teen Takes Her Life Amidst Purity Test Ordeal
After returning home from the church service, Tariro’s despondency persisted. The following day, her mother discovered her in a critical condition, after having consumed poison.
She was immediately rushed to Chivhu General Hospital, but sadly, medical efforts were unsuccessful, and she passed away upon admission.
Police Calls for Responsible Handling of Sensitive Matters
Mashonaland East Police Spokesperson, Simon Chazovachiyi, confirmed the tragic event and urged the public to handle such matters with caution and adhere to proper procedures.
Chazovachiyi emphasized the importance of maintaining open lines of communication between parents and their children, stressing the need for a supportive environment.
