OAKVILLE COLLEGE, KADOMA BLESSED WITH THE BOOK ‘A LIFE OF SACRIFICE ‘

Oakville Senior School, a new college in the busy surbubs of Rimuka in Kadoma, celebrated this year’s Africa Day in style last Friday.  It was moving with the cultural month’s theme, BUILDING ZIMBABWE BRICK BY BRICK, building Africa stone upon stone. The college showcased a lot of African activities, food staffs and clothing. This unlike other Africa day celebrations organised by other surrounding colleges for the year, was an ideal one.

The event was blessed by great figures such as the Chairperson for Men BelievED, Cde Tambala, members from ZMF, Ms Chitimbe  and Apostle Mashingaidze. Other well represented organisations included YMCA, ZINWA and Life Technical Training lnstitute. They shared their experienced and encouraged everyone to move hand in glove with the second Republic in building Zimbabwe and Africa at large.

The College was awarded with the book A LIFE OF SACRIFICE which contains the biography of the President of The Republic Of Zimbabwe, His Excellence, Cde Emerson Dambudzo Munangagwa. The college Principal, Ms Bizabani applauded Cde Tambala for such a historic book. She even appreciated efforts of various stakeholders in making the day a success and promised to work hand in hand with them in attaining the vision 2030 through heritage based curriculum.

Oakville Senior School is a new college opened in January 2024 in the ghettohood of Rimuka. If offers heritage based curriculum and is working tirelessly to raise students fit for the outside world. It also offers short courses and crucial sporting activities. By celebrating Africa day, Oakville Senior School admitted that it’s African based therefore should always uphold African values, norms and beliefs. Africa day is celebrated each year on 25 May since 1963. This day became a springboard for an end to African colonialism. Through collaborated African efforts, African forefathers fought against colonial foes to end oppression and suppression of Africans in their continent. Africans were called to get united and work together to safeguard their independence.
