Zimbabweans React to Rumbie and Enerst’s Love Story, call Rumbie a gold-digger
Zimweddings, a popular social media page renowned for sharing beautiful love stories, recently shared newlyweds Rumbie and Ernest’s love story. However, what started as a heartwarming story quickly turned into a viral topic of discussion, with many labelling the bride a gold digger and the groom a simp.
The Love Story of Rumbie and Ernest
In a detailed seven-part series, Rumbie narrated how she met her husband, Ernest, at her workplace, a bank. Initially, Enerst requested her phone number under the guise of needing to check on system updates for his transactions.
Rumbie recounted how she frequently blocked and ignored Enerst’s calls, unblocking him only when she needed financial assistance, then promptly blocking him again after receiving money. Despite having an on-and-off boyfriend, she eventually agreed to go on a date with Enerst, only to block him again afterwards. After three years of sporadic communication on Facebook, Rumbie broke up with her boyfriend and decided to give Ernest a chance beyond their financial interactions.
After a few months of dating, Enerst began discussing marriage, a topic Rumbie initially felt was premature. She shared that she was delighted by the gifts and trips Enerst lavished upon her. Finally, in December, after several months of dating, Enerst proposed, and they married on April 6, 2024.
