Malema has the last laugh as his ‘xenophobia’ prophecy begins to unfold
The EFF slumped to a disappointing finish in the 2024 national elections as they finished fourth behind the newly formed MK as well as their bitter rivals, the Democratic alliance.
The EFF’s 4th position surprised a lot of people as the party was deemed the favourites, with the sentiment that they would walk away with the majority; but unfortunately they were seen registering a decline.
Many factors were given and one that seems to stand out over the rest, was that Julius Malema’s “tongue” made the voters change their minds in the last minute; due to his unapologetic stance on the EFF’s borderless policy.
While Malema’s words may have seemed “unpatriotic” to many South Africans before the elections…not a month after the elections have concluded and those words are starting to happen right before our eyes.
“They are going to ask us to make certain pronouncements in their language and when we can’t they will send us back to Limpopo. We are going to be victims. Celebrate and be happy and say the things you are saying about foreigners, go on. When they are done they are coming for you.”
“They are going to say that Zulus are the reason we don’t have jobs, they must go back to natal. Everyone must go back to their province because now there will be no foreigner to fight. We will fight amongst ourselves because poverty, hunger and unemployment will remain even when foreigners are gone.” said Malema in a footage before the elections.
The footage re-surfaced in light of the current race war that is happening in the Western Cape, where Coloureds are using the “Abahambe” phrase on black South Africans living in “their” province.
The phrase was used collectively by South Africans as a movement to try and get foreigners to return back to their homeland, but now South Africans are directing it at each other, as there are “no foreigners to fight ” like Malema said- “only hunger, poverty and unemployment remains”.
