Roki’s new song ‘Andikwanise’ embodies his perpetual evolution as an artist

Roki quietly released a video for a new song called Andikwanise.

The track falls under the Passion Java Records label, for whom Roki has been signed for a while.

The new song feels inspired by pure 90s sound, towards the end of the decade, scratching a bit of the early 00s.

The sound is tantric without being overt. It flows with consummate ease, sustaining an emotion without being claustrophobic.

If you heard him sing this song alone, you would be convinced this was the only genre he was into. You would never guess Chidzoka, Patati Patata, or Screenshot were part of his catalogue.

And that is the mind-numbing studio skill Roki has, the ability to make you feel what that specific song intends, absent what else he has done before.

It is well worth a listen.
