ZIMRA TAKES CHEGUTU MUNICIPALITY TO COURT

Chegutu Town Clerk Jacob Chikuruwo was arraigned before the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court on behalf of the Municipality for allegedly violating the Income Tax Act.

According to the State, between December 2023 and May 2024, Chegutu Municipality failed to submit PAYE declaration returns to the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) despite multiple reminders
.
The Municipality was sent a final reminder on June 25, 2024 but did not comply.

Mr. Chikuruwo, representing Chegutu Municipality, pleaded guilty to the charges and will appear for sentencing on July 12.
