Zimsmart Villages offers affordable eye-care services to communities

Nearly 150 patients with eye problems were treated by Zimsmart Villages personnel at affordable prices at Sakubva, Mutare today.

Zimsmart Villages, a local pioneering e-health commerce company, was offering its services at Holyname Parish (Anglican Church) in Sakubva

Among the nearly 150 patients who received treatment was Gogo Murimwa (56) from Bezel Bridge and Jairos Musapatika (39) from 22 miles.

Both are from the outskirts of Mutare city

“I have come from Bezel Bridge to buy my prescribed spectacles and l have paid half of the the price for Sakubva Eye Unit.

“There prices are very affordable when compared to the other quotation that l have,” said Mrs Murimwa.

Musapatika said he was there for replacement spectacles.

“I called the sales representative and complained about my spectacles which l bought two weeks ago and they asked me to come for a replacement.”

The two patients said they were happy about the services they received.

Tawanda Njerere from Zimsmart Village said the intiative was anchored on addressing the non-communicable disease burden by providing affordable services.

Zimsmart Village was launched by the Health Ambassador, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa in Chiweshe this year.

The services they offer are prescribed spectacles, comprehensive eye exams, and Nutrition counseling, among others.
