Budiriro Cultural Arts Shines Bright with Young Talent

The 2024 Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival was abuzz with excitement as Budiriro Cultural Arts, representing Mashonaland West province, took to the stage with their vibrant youthful team. Comprising talented boys and girls aged 18-24, the group showcased their passion and energy, making a lasting impression on the audience.
Although they didn’t take home any prizes, Budiriro Cultural Arts earned something even more valuable – experience and exposure. Performing alongside seasoned groups, they gained insight into the art of traditional dance and made connections that will benefit them in the future.
This young team’s participation in the festival marks the beginning of a bright future for Budiriro Cultural Arts. With their talent, dedication, and newfound experience, they’re poised to make a name for themselves in the world of traditional dance.
This year’s winners were Nyaungwe Arts Ensemble from Murehwa, Mashonaland East first prize and take home US$15,000.
First runner up went to Culture Warriors of Harare which received US$10,000. While second runner up went to Dapurahunzva Arts Ensemble of Manicaland which received US$7,500.

Bolamba Performing Arts (Matabeleland South), Gango (Masvingo), Khaya Arts (Bulawayo), Dzimbahwe Nengoma (Mashonaland Central), Pezhuba Pachena (Matabeleland North), Mkango (Midlands)
The festival is an annual event organized by Delta Beverages in collaboration with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and the Zimbabwe National Traditional Dance Association (ZNTDA) and this year was held under the theme: “Tamba Tione, Gida Sibone!
There was also afterparty performances featured Jah Prayzah, Killer T, and Tocky Vibes.
