August 3 2014 has been designated as a Global Day of Rage and Solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners and the people of Gaza, amidst ongoing Israeli genocide and humanitarian crises which has left over 49 480 Palestinians killed and missing, 91,128 injured and 2.2 million displaced.

“Palestinian detainees from Gaza and West Bank are subject to brutal murders, torture, rape and sexual violence at the hands of Israeli military forces. Over 3300 in Gaza have been kidnapped into unknown prison locations, while more than 9,600 Palestinians – including 300 women and 635 minors – from the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem have been arrested,” narrated Palestine envoy to Zimbabwe Ambassador Dr Tarmer Almassri.

“Detainees are kept in extremely harsh conditions, such as confined places resembling chicken cages, without food or water for long periods of time and endure severe forms of torture and beatings to extract confessions. Israel kidnapped dozens of the bodies for martyrs and returned them without other body parts like kidneys, hearts, skins suggesting that Israel may be involved in sale of human organs.”

He said israel is flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire to hostilities.

“Israel should be condemned by all progressive states and peoples amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza,” said Ambassador Dr Almassri.

“We therefore call for the imposition of legal sanctions on Israel encompassing diplomatic, economic and financial aspects, ending all other forms of complicity with Israel’s illegal military occupation, and reactivating the special committee of the United Nations to combat apartheid to help eradicate the apartheid regime in Israel and hold those responsible to account,” said Palestinian Ambassador.

The Palestinian embassy calls for the end of occupation state, and for Israel to be suspended from membership in the United Nations and stripping it of its privileges and membership rights.

“The continued war crimes, assassination of Palestinian leaders, doctors, journalists, United Nations workers once again proves that Netanyahu and his fascist government has no intention of achieving peace but to prolong its genocide in Gaza to shield himself from domestic criminal cases against him while escalating the war to the region threatening world peace.

“The UN has consistently called on Israel to lift blockades, stop the genocide war as well as to end violence in Gaza and the other Occupied Palestinian land, however Israel continues to act with impunity, backed by powerful financial and political powers.

“The USA and other western states in particular have not deterred Israel from committing crimes, but have assured their unconditional support which are in violation of international law,” he said.

“We reiterate that the Palestinian people will use all means guaranteed by the international law to defend themselves against this brutal occupation assuring that Palestinians will never raise the white flag.”
