Human remains found in Buhera

BUHERA – Human remains suspected to be those of Farai Quentin (39) of Nhakiwa Village in Mudzi were discovered near Murambinda Cemetery in Buhera last week. Also recovered from the scene were an okapi knife, R10, R50, six 20 Pula notes, a Zimbabwe National Identify Card in the name Quentin and a Samsung cellphone with a Botswana sim card.

Quentin who was on Police wanted list on allegations of murdering his wife at the Growth Point in October last year is suspected to have hung himself after committing the crime.

Manicaland Police Spokesman Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the matter to The Mirror and said investigations are still in progress. DNA tests will be carried out to establish the identity of the deceased.

On August 19, 2024 at around 10am, Aaron Masuka was at Murambinda Cemetery in Mhete Village under Chief Nyashanu attending a funeral when he went visited a nearby hill to relieve himself. Masuka noticed a pair of grey trousers, black short, white and blue stripped boxer short with bones inside. A skull covered with a wool hat, a pair of black takkies, ribs and backbone were scattered under a tree.

He informed Tavangwena Maricho whom he took to the scene before they reported the matter to ZRP Murambinda.

Police searched uphill and discovered a cloth hanging from a tree suggesting that he hung himself.
