Police investigating cases of assault in social media videos

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) says it is investigating various cases of assault emanating from social media videos.

Cops said as much as they announced the arrest of three Nyanga women who were seen assaulting a woman for dating one of their husbands.

The actions were recorded and went viral on social media.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of the three suspects, Patience Saunyama (40), Gloria Gara (30) and Juliet Charanjeru (23), in connection with the assault case which occurred at a borehole at Dzimbiti Village, Saunyama, Nyanga on 12th August 2024,” the statement said.

More of these cases are coming to light, with multiple women jailed for similar offences.
