Police suspect inside job in US$4m bank robbery
POLICE in Bulawayo have launched a manhunt for six unidentified armed robbers who raided a Safeguard Security cash-in-transit vehicle early today and got away with US$4 million at a local bank on Thursday.
In a statement, police said they suspect the robbers connived with some insiders in the heist.

Part of the statement read: “The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that investigations are in full swing in connection with an alleged armed robbery case which occurred late this afternoon on 03rd October 2024 at a financial institution at corner 9th Avenue and Fife Street, Bulawayo when a cash in transit security team was approached by six suspects.”
“Initial indicaions are that USD 4 000 000.00 cash has been stolen. The manner in which this incident occurred show an element of inside job or leakage of information,” police added.
