Over 3000 revellers attended Winky D’s Masvingo show

MASVINGO – Approximately 3 000 revelers attended the second and final day of the Lake October Festival at Caravan Park, Masvingo, on Saturday night where Gafa president Winky D delivered a superb 2 hour performance.

Festival founder and director Garikayi Garande confirmed the attendance to The Mirror.

“We are still working around the figures and so far we can say approximately 3 000 attended the final day of the festival. The festival is a resounding success,” he said.

Winky was supported by Gemma Griffiths, Mbeu, Hwindi President and Mr Candy. Freeman headlined Friday performances and he was supporte d by Trevor Dongo, Chillspot Family and Nisha TS.

The choir master wore a glittering suit and fused his old hits with some latest tracks. He left the stage at 5am and his last song was Green like mi garden.

Mbeu and the Mhodzi Tribe also delivered a well-choreographed performance and he paid tribute to the late national hero Dr Oliver Mtukudzi who mentored him at Pakare Paye Arts Centre.

Mbeu sang Tuku’s Tsika Dzedu much to the applause of the revelers. Gemma did not disappoint on her debut Masvingo performance and had the crowd singing along to her hits as Titungamire, Ndichatarisa and Ndini. Hwindi President delivered an excellent performance.

The festival was founded in 2018 and is in its fourth year running. – Mirror
