Courtney Jongwe Crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2025

Courtney Jongwe, a 23-year-old from Manicaland, was crowned Miss World Zimbabwe at a ceremony in Borrowdale, Harare, on Saturday. She won a US$500 cash prize, a ticket to represent the country at next year’s Miss World pageant, and a car to be unveiled soon.

Judges announced Yollanda Chimbarami and Life Matunzeni as this year’s runners-up. “There is no first or second runner-up as we are following Miss World standards,” said Patience Lusengo, the director of Miss World Zimbabwe.

The event, themed “Beauty with a Purpose,” showcased 11 contestants, with the competition narrowing down to five finalists before Courtney’s victory. “I am in awe; it’s hard to believe,” said Courtney, expressing her excitement to represent Africa and promote the nation’s narrative.

“I am so honoured to be your new Miss World Zimbabwe 2025.”

“I will use my story to give the African narrative.

“We are ready to make an impact on the global stage.”The world has to know Zimbabwe is here,” she added.

Zodwa Mkandla, speaking on behalf of Miss Universe Zimbabwe board chairperson Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga, emphasized the pageant’s role in empowering young women.

“Tonight is not just about crowns, but building a city where women in Zimbabwe are empowered,” she stated.

The evening featured entertainment by Tammy Moyo, who performed “Kelvidhura.” The event was hosted by South Africa-based television presenter Kim Jayde.
