ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON CHIWENGA

Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has made shocking revelations during his visit to India, claiming he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Zimbabwe.

The startling disclosure came during a press conference in Goa, where Chiwenga is on an official visit.

According to reports, Chiwenga stated, “I am lucky to be alive today. There were treacherous shenanigans aimed at eliminating me back home.”

The Vice President, known for his military background, did not mince words as he described the alleged plot against his life.

“Some people thought they could silence me permanently, but God had other plans,” Chiwenga reportedly said.

His comments have sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is in Harare, was quick to respond to Chiwenga’s claims.

In a statement released by his office, Mnangagwa said, “We take these allegations very seriously. A full investigation will be launched immediately.”

The relationship between Chiwenga and Mnangagwa has been a subject of speculation in recent years.

Both men played crucial roles in the 2017 coup that ousted long-time leader Robert Mugabe.

However, rumours of a growing rift between the two have persisted.

Chiwenga’s latest comments seem to add fuel to these speculations.

The Vice President went on to provide more details about the alleged assassination attempt.

“It was a well-planned operation. They thought they had covered all their tracks,” he said.

Chiwenga claimed that he only learned of the plot after it had failed.

“I was informed by loyal members of our security forces. They risked their lives to warn me,” he added.

The Vice President’s revelations have raised questions about the stability of Zimbabwe’s government.
