Two stabbed to death on New Year’s eve
TWO men were stabbed to death at two business centres on New Year’s eve.
In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said on December 31 police in Mazowe arrested Elisack Pomerai, 33, in connection with a case of murder which occurred at a shop at Jumbo Mine in Mazowe.
“The suspect hit the victim, Oliver Tsikwa, 38, with stones and a shovel before stabbing him on the head several times with a Mars C11 knife after an argument over a chisel.
“The victim died on the spot.
“Meanwhile, police in Kwekwe are investigating a case of murder in which Lloyd Zhakata, 21, died after being stabbed with a Colombia knife on the chest at a bar at Joseph Village in Zhombe on December 31, 2024.
“The suspect had accused the victim of assaulting his young brother and is on the run.
“Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station,” said Comm Nyathi. H-Metro
