In a bid to return to the Premier League, Chegutu Pirates Football Club has engaged vastly experienced Moses Chunga as their head coach.

Pirates were relegated from the elite Premier League at the end of the 2024 season and are working on regaining their place in the top tier.

Chegutu Pirates Executive member Savious Mangena confirmed that Chunga is their new head coach who will lead the team back to the Premier Soccer League.

“We have reached an agreement with the legendary Chunga. The deal has been signed and sealed,” Mangena said.

The highly rated Chunga acknowledged his new role at Chegutu Pirates.

“I have indeed joined Chegutu Pirates and will work hard to achieve positive results,” he said

Chunga faces a mammoth task of leading a team that recently suffered an exodus of players

In addition, another Pirates goalkeeper, Tafadzwa Jabangwe, along with defenders Ruben Machaya and Rodwell Mhlanga, signed with the financially muscular Kwekwe-based Hardrock Football Club.
