Kadoma City is gearing up for the official opening of its Public Health Emergency Centre at Pamela House on Thursday, March 13, 2025. This milestone event is a culmination of efforts by World Vision, with financial support from ADH, to implement the Strengthening Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience (SHEPRAR) project.

The project has covered various activities, including establishing sub-national Public Health Emergency Operations Centres (PHEOCs) in several districts and hospitals. Additionally, laboratories have been equipped with necessary equipment and consumables for cholera culture and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) in hospitals such as Kadoma General Hospital.

The event is expected to draw high-level delegates, including Provincial Medical Directors (PMDs), District Medical Officers (DMOs), Directors of City Health, and Medical Superintendents. Israel Chabata, Project Manager for Health Emergency, Preparedness and Response at World Vision Zimbabwe, will also be in attendance.

Kadoma City Health, under the leadership of Dr. Daniel Chirundu, has been working tirelessly to ensure citizens receive quality service delivery. The official opening of the Public Health Emergency Centre marks a significant step towards enhancing the city’s preparedness and response to public health emergencies .
