Student raped while fetching prayer water

A Chitungwiza Form 4 student was raped while fetching water for prayers in Hunyani River on Sunday.

The 16-year-old student was dragged to a parked white Honda Fit by three men when she was found fetching water at a spring.

She was raped in the parked vehicle by one of the three men while others watched.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case.

“Police are investigating a rape case involving a 16-year-old at Hunyani River near Manyame Park.

“The accused persons were reported to have dragged the complainant into their vehicle at around 1.30pm and released her at around 5pm.

“The complainant was escorted to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for medical examination,” said Insp Chakanza. Herald
