Two foreigners arrested at Harare airport with nearly 70kg of cannabis
HARARE – Zimbabwean police have arrested two foreign nationals at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare after they allegedly attempted to smuggle nearly 70 kilograms of cannabis into the country from Thailand.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the suspects were caught with four monarch suitcases containing loose skunky dagga — a potent strain of cannabis — weighing 18.5kg, 17kg, 18.4kg, and 16kg respectively.
“The ZRP has arrested two foreign nationals at RGMI Airport who were coming from Thailand to Zimbabwe for drug trafficking,” police posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday evening. “More details will be released in due course.”
The identities of the suspects and their nationalities have not yet been disclosed.
