From Journalism to Influencer

Gweru- Rutendo Glenda Chaukura (26) took an unconventional career path, with a degree in journalism and her photography skills she could have easily pursued a traditional route in the media industry.
The former communications officer and photographer for Save Our Environment Trust, has however chosen to blog, documenting her travels, lifestyle, and experience.
The Observer caught up with the influencer. ” I have always loved the camera, I just decided to just go for it.I chose blogging because l realised that traditional journalism does not offer me the creative freedom that l really want”,said the Midlands State University graduate.
Through her storytelling and research skills Glenda has created engaging content that has gained her quite a following .Much of her content is on travel and lifestyle .” I am a very outgoing person and l enjoy exploring new places and this was an area where I saw opportunity”, Chaukura said.
The influencer speaks of consistently reaching out to her audience through their comments on social media . ” I take in critiques and turn them into something positive .l am also getting enthusiastic support ,helping me to refine my content as well as create a loyal following”, she said.She envisions expanding into podcasting and an creating more engaging quality content.
