The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is currently investigating a murder case that occurred at Village 4, Dunning Farm, Mberengwa, about a week ago.

Two suspects, Manyaya Muvhecha and Shepherd Mhundonga, are alleged to have assaulted 20-year-old Viola Hove over accusations of stealing US$500.

The incident took place on 10 May 2025, when the suspects reportedly kidnapped Viola and her friend, claiming that they had stolen the money after hiring them for a sleepover. Concerned for her safety, Viola’s sister filed a missing persons report with the ZRP Mberengwa.

On 15 May 2025, Viola’s friend came forward to report the murder, leading the police to the scene where they discovered Viola’s body in a decomposing state.
