Trevor Dongo’s girlfriend has allegedly been sentenced to 20 years in prison for arson and malicious damage to property, following a dramatic incident that left the Urban Grooves singer’s apartment in ruins.
The conviction stems from a March altercation that reportedly escalated when the woman, allegedly a scorned baby mama, found Dongo with another lover and set his home ablaze in a fit of rage.
While initial reports about the incident were unconfirmed, the matter gained traction on social media, prompting Dongo to break his silence in a now-deleted Facebook post.
Expressing frustration over what he called “fabricated stories,” the artist wrote, “The level of toxicity that drives some bloggers and journalists these days is insane.”
He denied many of the circulating rumors but admitted to the devastating loss caused by the fire.
“I lost everything—my furniture, clothes, shoes, studio equipment, company documents, and even the apartment itself,” Dongo revealed.
He also sustained serious burns while attempting to rescue his belongings during the blaze.
Though he refrained from naming the culprit directly, Dongo hinted at betrayal and heartbreak.
“I am in serious pain. I’ve been a good father and friend. My life is ruined, but I would like to thank my genuine friends and relatives,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dongo has teased new music on the way.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
“Dropping a new song this Friday the 23rd, and it features a female artist. Can you guess who it is?”
