64-Year-Old Man Sentenced for Beating his Wife After she Followed him to his Girlfriend’s House

A 64-year-old man from Hwange appeared in the Hwange Magistrates’ Court facing charges of physical abuse.

He was convicted and sentenced to pay a fine of USD 200 or serve three months in prison if he fails to pay.

Additionally, three months of the sentence was wholly suspended for five years.

According to a report by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the incident occurred on April 17, 2025, around 9:00 PM, when the victim followed her husband to his girlfriend’s residence after he left work.

Upon entering the girlfriend’s bedroom, the victim confronted the offender, which provoked him.

In a fit of rage, he physically assaulted her, striking her multiple times before dragging her outside and continuing to attack her with his booted feet.
