Miss Universe Touches Down At RG International Airport For The First Time

Miss Universe , Sheynnis Palacios yesterday landed at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, in a first for the reigning Miss Universe to visit Zimbabwe.
Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios was welcomed at the aorport by Miss Universe Zimbabwe Sakhile Dube who was crowned in May 2024. Dube succeeded Brooke Bruk-Jackson who was crowned Miss Universe Zimbabwe in 2023.
The six day tour by Sheynnis Palacios is aimed to promote cultural exchange and tourism.
During her visit to Zimbabwe, Miss Universe is expected to visit various places that includes Victoria Falls and UNESCO world heritage sites, Epworth – a suburb of Harare where she will visit a borehole project and engage with the local community. She is also meet with the government officials, business leaders and participate in cultural events in Harare and vist other national tourist sites and local schools.
“Zimbabwe holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. As a Nicaraguan, I’m excited to witness the new bond between our countries particularly with the recent opening of the Nicaraguan embassy here . This signifies a new chapter of collaboration and friendship and I am happy about the opportunities it will bring,” said Miss Universe.
“The natural splendor of Zimbabwe is something I am particularly excited about, the savannah ecosystem, home of the majestic Big Five, I cannot wait to see these extraordinary wildlife in their natural habitat and learn more about the initiatives that protect these magnificent creatures.
“And of course I’m thrilled beyond measure to visit one of the World Wonders, the Victoria Falls ” she said.
Miss Universe went further and said she believes in the power of giving back to the community and addressing societal issues that affect people.
She concluded by congratulating the President Dr Emerson Mnangagwa on his recent appointment as the SADC Chairperson.
“This is a momentous achievement and a testament of the leadership and vision that Zimbabwe continues to embody on the regional stage. I have no doubt that under his leadership and guidance, the SADC will achieve great strides towards progress and unity,” said Miss Universe.
