Land Tenure System is Designed To Create Wealth Among Citizens: Tagwirei 

Bulawayo – The government’s land tenure system is designed to, among other benefits, create wealth qnd empower citizens, Kudakwashe Tagwirei, the chairperson of the Land Tenure Implementation Committee, said recently.

In a delivery at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo as part of the Land Tenure Leadership Success Series event, Tagwirei said:

“We want to empower youths and promote agricultural productivity through the new land tenure system, which provides secure, bankable, and registrable tenure rights.”

Tagwirei emphasized that the new land tenure system is designed to create wealth among Zimbabweans and empower them to protect their resources.

He encouraged youths to consider smart agriculture and leverage technology to develop the land and use it effectively. Tagwirei highlighted the establishment of an infrastructural facility with a seed capital of $50 million to support infrastructure development for A2 farmers and infrastructure loans for A1 farmers.

Tagwirei’s speech also sparked controversy as he accused former government ministers Saviour Kasukuwere and Tendai Biti of corruption, claiming they had no moral right to criticize him.

The event was attended by influential figures, including Minister of Youth Tino Machakaire, ICT Minister Tatenda Matevera, Zanu PF national political commisser Munyaradzi Machacha, Mabvuku member of parliament Scott Sakupwanya and other senior government officials.

Tagwirei’s comments have ignited a debate about corruption and the role of politically connected individuals in Zimbabwe’s economy .

The land tenure program is going to cover all 10 provinces of the country with the aim to empower farmers including youths so as to use land effectively for economic development.
