VP CHIWENGAβS EX-WIFE MARRY MUBAIWA RESPONDS TO SHINGI KAWONDERAβS CLAIMS ABOUT GINIMBI AND LOST WEALTH
_…βLet him come. Iβll face him,β she declared confidently…_
Former football star Shingi Kawondera has found himself under heavy criticism from his ex-wife, Marry Mubaiwa, after making a series of bold claims about her during an interview on DJ Ollah 7βs podcast.
In his interview, Kawondera accused Mubaiwa of contributing to his downfall, claiming she was involved in him losing his wealth, including his alleged ownership stake in Pioneer Gas. He went further, alleging the late businessman Genius βGinimbiβ Kadungure was part of the scheme and that Ginimbi only met Mubaiwa because of him.
Speaking in Shona, Kawondera said Ginimbi and Mubaiwa βdidnβt know each other beforeβ and were introduced through him.
βBefore, ndisati ndadaro, vaisazivana… Vakatozotanga kuzivana through inini,β he said in Shona, suggesting their relationship was facilitated by him.

But Mubaiwa didnβt waste time hitting back. In an interview with journalist Simba Chikanza on ZimEye, she laughed off the accusations and called them outright lies. She made it clear that Ginimbi wasnβt just a business acquaintance; he was family.
βHow could I not have known Genius? His mother is my dadβs sister. So what is he saying? We werenβt strangers from a bottle store,β she said. βGenius and I were family.β
She also addressed claims that they co-owned a boutique in Eastlea. Mubaiwa insisted that her business ventures were separate from Kawondera and Ginimbi. She ran a travel agency called La Shell, named in memory of her late sister, Michelle.
Mubaiwa didnβt stop there. She questioned why Kawondera seemed obsessed with her, pointing out that he had been married both before and after her.
βWhy is he only talking about me? He was married before, married after. Why am I the only one heβs talking about? Is he looking for attention? For relevance?β
On the accusation that she ended his football career, Mubaiwa was equally dismissive. She said his football struggles had nothing to do with her.
βHow did I do that? I wasnβt involved in his football decisions. If he came back from Cyprus and couldnβt find me, what has that got to do with ending his football?β
*Shingi Kawondera Advised to go to Court*
Mubaiwa also addressed the serious claim about losing Pioneer Gas through forgery. She challenged Kawondera to stop talking and take action if he had proof.
βIf he has grievances, he should go to court. Some of Geniusβs properties still exist. He can approach the estate and make a formal claim,β she said.
She added that company changes go through the Registrar of Companies, making such claims serious allegations against government processes, too.
βHeβs accusing the Registrar of Companies of fraud because all company changes are signed off by them. If his signature was forged, whereβs the evidence?β
Asked if she would publicly debate Kawondera, Mubaiwa said she had no fear.
βLet him come. Iβll face him,β she declared confidently.
Still, despite the mudslinging, Mubaiwa acknowledged one thing: she appreciated that Kawondera admitted she raised their daughter well and never blocked him from seeing her. *_iHarare_*
