Girl, 17, Dies After Being Beaten By Father & Evil Stepmother In Nyanga

Police have confirmed the arrest of a father and stepmother in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old girl, Rumbidzai Kamupira, who died after being assaulted at Chimusasa Business Centre in Nyanga on Monday, July 14, 2025.

Chakupiwa Kamupira, 48, and Maria Chibego, 38, are currently in police custody.

According to a statement issued by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) on Tuesday evening, the incident began after Rumbidzai reportedly failed to return home on Sunday, July 13.

Her stepmother, Maria Chibego, is alleged to have assaulted the teenager with open hands and a switch.

The victim’s father, Chakupiwa Kamupira, then reportedly joined in the assault, also using a switch.

Rumbidzai Kamupira was rushed to a local clinic, but sadly, she died upon admission.
